The most important feature of this chemical, which has different types such as HPMC, MHEC, as pure and modified, is water retention. It traps a certain amount of water for a certain period of time, thus allowing the working time of the mortar to be adjusted. By improving the consistency of the mortar, it facilitates the carding process, and if we take into account the different viscosity values due to the modification coming from the production, they also increase the shear resistance of the mortar. Viscosity values are also very important according to the characteristics of the product to be produced, especially in plaster and joints, the product with low viscosity should be preferred.
