SET RETARDERS

SET RELAYING ACIDS

They are additives that are generally used in hot, windy weather. It is used to delay the setting by affecting the hydration between water and cement. Set retarding additives cause an increase in pre-set shrinkage.

Set retarding additives are generally used in weather conditions where the air temperature is high, humidity is low, wind is high, when the concrete is transported over long distances, in case of pouring large volume concrete (mass concrete) and in case of preventing cold joints.

CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE APPLICATION:

In order to reduce the setting accelerator effect of the hot air and to allow the surface finishing process,
To reduce the machinability loss,
In order to prevent the formation of cold joints, in applications where long distance transportation is required.
